Join us on day 5 of our Norwegian adventure as we sail through the breathtaking Lustrafjorden, making our way to Skjolden. Along the south side of Lustrafjorden, we marvel at the stunning Feigefossen Waterfall, standing tall at 218 meters, making it one of Norway's highest unregulated waterfalls. Arriving in Skjolden just after 8am, we're greeted by its natural splendour, snow-capped peaks, cascading waterfalls, and tranquil turquoise waters make Skjolden an absolute must-see in Norway. This picturesque village offers a glimpse into traditional Norwegian life, with its charming wooden houses and picturesque farms. Outdoor enthusiasts will love the opportunities for hiking, kayaking, and exploring glaciers. Today, we've booked the Glaciers & Views excursion for $89 each. It's a 70-minute journey to Nigardsbreen Glacier, where a visitor centre awaits with a gift shop and café. Nigardsbreen Glacier, an arm of Norway's Jostedalsbreen Glacier within the National Park, captivates visitors with its mesmerising blue ice and rugged terrain. After some spirited fencing, we unwind with cocktails in the Commodore's Lounge, soaking in the views. On day 7, we're at sea, taking one last stroll around the promenade before dinner, savouring the unique feeling of being at sea.
