It is our 5th day on the Norwegian Prima and we are going to visit Bergen, Norway, our 35th country! The city of Bergen is Norway's second largest city located on the southwestern coast. It is surrounded by mountains and fjords and is absolutely stunning! The town features colorfully painted wooden houses on the old wharf, once the center of the town. This area is renowned for fishing and the fish market is a must see. it is a short walk from where our cruise ship dropped us off. Along the wharf there are also numerous Food Halls. Here we sampled reindeer, moose and even whale sausages. There were all types of foods to try and many places to watch people preparing fresh seafood to eat. The shopping along this wharf is also plentiful. You will be able to find any type of souvenir you might want! Be sure to wonder behind the main row of buildings. The small crooked alley ways hold all kinds of shops and museums. We visited several museums that were free. After a morning of exploring the city we decided to make the short journey to the tallest of the seven mountains that surround Bergen, Ulriken. It is 634 meters or 2,110 feet above sea level. We will be taking Norways largest cable car or gondola to the top! I'm super excited about his because I have never ridden in a cable car up to the top of a mountain! It is a rainy day and we were not sure about the views but the experience did not disappoint. The views were better than expected and as a plus, we nearly had the place to ourselves. The ride up took about 5 minutes. At the top we were totally inside a cloud. We did visit the cafe at the top and got coffee, hot chocolate (It was delicious!) and tried a cinnamon roll type pastry that Bergen is famous for! Even though it was not the best weather, I DID have the BEST time! Thank you so much for joining us today. We REALLY apprecite everyone who subscribes and supports our channel. We know that we are "Living the GOOD Life!" and we hope you are too! Skol!
