We had been enjoying an afternoon of snorkeling at the reef off the coast of Belize during a Carnival cruise in August of 2012. All of a sudden, my wife pointed out to me that I was swimming directly above a string ray! He was so well camouflaged that I didn't even notice him as I snorkeled directly above him.
