I was on the Carnival Celebration. Carnivals newest ship. We were doing in eastern Caribbean cruise. One of our stops was Amber Cove the Dominican Republic. The nearest city is Puerto Plata. Puerto Plata is actually a beautiful city with so much to see like Pink Street, Umbrella, Street, restaurants, pubs and the cable car. They claim the cable car is the highest reaching cable car in the Caribbean. At the top of the mountain, there lies the statue of Christ the redeemer, tunnels, surrounded with plants and flowers, old cave, a man-made lagoon, and some replicas of the housing in the early years of Dominican Republic. The motor transportation we used was taxi. I feel like it’s a safe city however, like any city try to stay in areas where there are lots of people particularly the tourist areas. #CarnivalCelebration #HubbardsJourney #johnheald #carnivalcruise #carnival #ambercove #DominicanRepublic #PuertoPlata
