On this vlog, we arrive at our second port of call: Skagway, Alaska. I booked an excursion thru Carnival Adventures: All Aboard! White Pass Steam Train To Lake Bennett, Canada. Embark on an exhilarating journey through time aboard Engine #73, a 1947 Baldwin steam locomotive that will transport you back to the golden age of steam and railway travel. This 53-mile steam engine ride offers a unique opportunity to admire the meticulous craftsmanship and engineering geniuses of the past. Capture the breathtaking scenery and iconic landmarks, including the majestic Bridal Veil Falls, Inspiration Point, Dead Horse Gulch and the White Pass summit, through the large picture windows of vintage rail cars. Indulge in a hearty snack while your guide shares fascinating stories about the Klondike Gold Rush and the construction of the railway. Lake Bennett: Experience Lake Bennett, a secluded stop along the way and only accessible via railroad, or by hiking 33 miles on the Chilkoot Trail. Explore the renowned Chilkoot Trail, immerse yourself in its rich history, and marvel at the scenic lake view from St. Andrew’s Church. Take a step back in time as you admire the historic 1910 Bennett station house with captivating interpretive displays and a short video showcasing the glory days of this isolated spot. Finally, reboard the train and conclude your adventure as your motor coach awaits in Fraser, British Columbia, to transport you back to Skagway. What’s Included With The Excursion: Rail narration. Chilkoot Trail National Historic Site. Lake Bennet Station Interpretative Center. Locally farmed and sourced snack (salami, cheese and crackers). Nonalcoholic beverages. Souvenir. I highly recommend this excursion, at least once, to experience the beauty around Skagway and in the Yukon of Canada. I suggest to pick the last car of the train so that you can step out onto the back of the train along your journey. After returning back to Skagway via tour bus, went back on board the Carnival Luminosa where I went to my Captain's Quarters cabin, followed by dinner in the Main Dining Room, followed by getting a selfie with the Carnival Luminosa Cruise Director, Zack. He was grabbing something fast to eat before he hosted the Love & Marriage Show, followed by the 80's Rock-N-Glow Deck Party to end the day. Have you been to Skagway, Alaska?
