Brilliant Lady: Maiden Arrival to NYC on September 2nd 2025 (4k)
YouTube Video Descriptionβ
When Richard Branson first set out to start a cruise line everyone said it would be a challenge, but no one back then knew just how much of a challenge it would actually be as he'd be launching during a pandemic. Originally to set sail on April 1st 2020 Virgin Voyages took delivery of the very first vessel, Scarlet Lady, as the Coronavirus was shutting down China. As they showed her off around the UK parts of Europe began to close. As she made her way from the UK to New York for her US debut and a series of dinner events the city of New York would also succumb to the virus. Halfway across the Atlantic the call to cancel the events and divert to Miami was made. Shortly afterwards her inaugural season would be canceled beginning the cascading cancellations that would plague the industry into financial trouble and unknown futures. Just 5 years later the line is now considered one of the top offerings receiving awards from everyone. The struggles and delays continued though as the second ship, Valiant Lady, and third ship, Resilient Lady were both delayed. These were followed by the fourth and final ship in the fleet, Brilliant Lady, seeing the longest delay at roughly 2 years from completion to setting sail. On September 2nd, 2025 though she made a grand entrance into NYC harbor to make her US debut as she begins sailing for the first time on September 5th.
