Creator's Key Takeaways

My friends were stuffy and hot and cramped and had engine noise. It was not a great experience for them especially.

The only thing worthwhile about this experience is that I get to warn you not to take this experience.

Let me suggest this other route instead.

The streets are smooth stone, so be careful if it rains that your shoes don't have slick soles.

Creator's Tips & Advice

Avoid the hop-on hop-off bus as it fills quickly and is not a true hop-on hop-off experience.
Walk along the treelined esplanade from the harbor for a better experience.
Be careful on smooth stone streets when it rains to avoid slipping.

YouTube Video Description

If you only have a few hours in Cartagena, Spain during your cruise stop, this port guide will help you make the most of your day! In this video, I’ll show you just how easy it is to explore Cartagena independently right from the cruise port. Cruise ships dock within a short walking distance of the beautiful old city, making Cartagena one of the easiest Spanish ports to visit on your own. I’ll walk you through the immediate port area, including where to find the touristic bus (which I personally do not recommend) and the touristic boat for harbor tours. Instead of taking organized transportation, I chose to spend the day exploring Cartagena on foot, and I’ll show you some of the highlights you can enjoy along the way, including the scenic tree-lined esplanade, the Heroes Monument, sculptures, murals, and waterfront views. I’ll also point out the tourism office and the entrance to the Roman Theater Museum located directly across the street from it. Purchasing a museum ticket gives access to the lower levels of the ancient Roman Theater, but I’ll also show you how to bypass the museum entrance and still enjoy beautiful views of the theater from St. Mary’s Church and the hillside park above. To help you plan your visit, I’ll show the locations of several major attractions on a map, including: • Roman Theater Museum • Roman Theater • Naval Museum • Roman Forum District • Augusteum • Archaeological Museum Whether you want history, scenic walks, photography spots, or simply a relaxing day wandering through a charming Mediterranean city, Cartagena is a fantastic cruise port to explore independently. Enjoy your day in Cartagena, Spain! #CartagenaSpain #CruisePortGuide #MediterraneanCruise #SpainTravel #CartagenaCruisePort #RomanTheater #CruiseTips #CruiseVlog #SpainCruise #MediterraneanPorts
