About our Bacon Score methodologyYouTube Video Descriptionβ
Our first stop while visiting Bali was Ubud and its Sacred Monkey Forest, also known as Ubud Monkey Forest. The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary is a nature reserve and temple complex in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia that is home to over 1260 long-tailed macaques, who are considered sacred by the local Balinese people. They are adorable, intelligent and very cheeky. There are guidelines posted that tell visitors not to look the monkeys directly in the eye, never feed the monkeys, don't touch the monkeys and watch your personal belongings. While we were there, we saw monkeys steal a phone and a pair of glasses and attempt to open a zipped-up bag. Surrounding the monkeys is a gorgeous forest, incredible statues and temples. It's a beautiful place to visit. For an extra donation, you can have a 'selfie' with a monkey. A person working at the forest holds your phone and food and a monkey sits on your lap. You are sill not allowed to touch them - they touch you. Because he is reaching for food, the photos look like the monkey is taking selfies with you! The monkeys only do this if and when they want to, they are never forced. The photos are hilarious! This is a very popular attraction in Bali and a must do! Monkey Forest Ubud holds a significant history intertwined with Balinese culture. Dating back to the 14th century, it has been regarded as a sacred place, housing spiritual forces and guardian spirits. The monkeys, seen as sacred animals, symbolize both protection and mischief, fostering a unique connection between humans and wildlife. #bali #worldcruise #monkeyforestubud #monkeyforest #monkeyforestbali #ubud #ubudbali #monkeys #mustdobali Music from https://www.bensound.com/ License number 204507727 00:00 Introduction 00:22 Entrance and Information 02:46 Entrance To The Forest 03:23 The Forest and The Monkeys 05:24 A Temple and The Monkeys 07:39 Monkey Selfie 08:39 Statues and Monkeys 11:04 Leaving The Sacred Monkey Forest
