0:00 Caribbean Princess & Her Lifeboats 4:18 Nieuw Statendam Ship Horn 4:56 Lago Mar Beach It was a fun sail-away party on our cruise ship, the Holland America Nieuw Statendam, as she set off on a cruise out of Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale. We got a great look at the bow of the Caribbean Princess along with her lifeboats, as well as glimpses of the Celebrity Edge and the ship we just got off of, the Odyssey of the Seas. We saw numerous small vessels, including the coast guard & a pilot boat, as our ship sailed out of Lake Mabel, into Stranahan River and past the Fort Lauderdale Jetties. Nearby were Fort Lauderdale million-dollar oceanfront homes, condos & hotels, as well as the Lago Mar Beach where beachgoers were waving good-bye.
