YouTube Video Descriptionβ
There were 5 cruise ships in Southampton Docks on the 21/12/17, the 'Oriana', 'Black Watch', Balmoral', 'Saga Sapphire' & the 'Ventura'. All 5 will be away for Christmas and will be back in 2018. First ship to depart was the Fred Olsen Cruise Lines Ship 'Black Watch' she departed from the City Cruise Terminal (101E) at 16:36pm as she backed out from the quayside she passed her fleetmate the 'Balmoral' berthed behind in (101W) they then both saluted each other with their ship horns. The 'Black Watch' sailed out of Southampton for a 15 Night Norwegian Christmas Cruise & her first port of call is Stavanger in Norway. Next ship to depart was the Saga Cruise Ship the 'Saga Sapphire' from the Queen Elizabeth II Cruise Terminal at 17:35pm for a 17 Night Scandinavian Christmas Cruise & her first port of call is Oslo in Norway. The Itchen Marine tug Wyestorm was in attendance at the stern guiding her away from the berth. The third ship to depart was the Fred Olsen Cruise Lines Ship the 'Balmoral' from (101W) City Cruise Terminal at 17:48pm for a 16 Night Canaries Christmas & Funchal Fireworks Cruise. Lastly it was the turn of P&O Cruises Ship the 'Ventura' from the Ocean Cruise Terminal at 19:00pm two hours later as planned for a 14 Night Portugal and Canary Islands Cruise. But I couldn't stay for the P&0 Cruises Ship 'Oriana' due to the fact that she had some problems on departing and eventually left the Mayflower Cruise Terminal the following day 22/12/17 just after 06:30am in the morning about 14 hours late for a 16 Night Canary Islands and Portugal Cruise & her first port of call is Funchal in Madeira.
