As of the time of this post, the following is what’s needed to cruise from South Africa with your child. That said, always verify travel requirements on the US Department of State website AND the official government website for the country/countries you are visiting: 💎 Passports for each traveler - Each passport must (1) be valid for at least 30 days after your trip, and (2) have at least two consecutive empty visa pages. 💎 All required boarding documentation from the cruise line. Our embarkation form needed to be printed, so pay attention to your cruise line’s instructions on that. 💎 Original or certified, unabridged, birth certificates for each child - this was requested and inspected at the cruise port. Officials check to make sure children are traveling with their parents or an authorized person. If the child is traveling without his or her parent, then you will also need to have written consent from the parent(s) named on the birth certificate who is(are) not present with the child.
