We’re joined by our friend Kieran, a talented miniature artist, model maker and theme park enthusiast, who spends the day exploring the park with us. We start our morning in Cars Land and purchase an Individual Lightning Lane for Radiator Springs Racers, one of the most popular attractions at Disneyland Resort. I explain how Lightning Lane works at Disneyland Resort, the cost of purchasing Individual Lightning Lanes and how Multi Pass differs from the system at Walt Disney World. Next we head to Pixar Pier for a ride on Incredicoaster, one of my favourite roller coasters at Disneyland Resort. We discuss how Disney California Adventure has evolved over the years, compare attractions across different Disney parks and enjoy some of the classic snacks available around Pixar Pier. Throughout the day I share more Disneyland Resort tips including using the Disneyland app, booking Lightning Lanes, joining the World of Color virtual queue and making the most of a one-day visit to Disney California Adventure. We continue our adventure with attractions including Toy Story Midway Mania, Monsters Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue, Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout and Web Slingers inside Avengers Campus. Along the way we also take a look at some of the ongoing expansion work happening around Avengers Campus, including the two new attractions currently under construction. For lunch we dine at Carthay Circle Lounge. One of the highlights of the afternoon is visiting the Animation Building, where we take part in Animation Academy and learn how to draw Marie from The Aristocats. After an afternoon break back at Pixar Place Hotel, we return to the park for the evening via Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. We ride Soarin’ Over California, meet Mickey Mouse, and prepare for one of the headline entertainment offerings created for Disneyland Resort’s 70th Anniversary celebration, World of Color Happiness. We finish the evening with dinner in Downtown Disney before heading back to Pixar Place Hotel for our full Disneyland Resort trip report.
