YouTube Video Description

They say not to go chasing waterfalls… but that is exactly what we are doing! In our travels, we have come across some beautiful waterfalls. And Facebook must know we like them so keeps showing me pictures. And I noticed how many were in Tennessee… so I decided to investigate and found that there are a lot of great waterfalls in this one state!!! Next stop… map them all out (see link below) and plan a trip! First waterfall is in the Southern part of the state, Rutledge Falls. And it’s one of the prettiest!! This fall is on private property but the owners let you park from dawn to dusk and walk the trail to the falls. Be careful… the path isn’t an easy one but it so worth it!! There is a swimming hole at the base, you can climb the rocks of the falls and there is even a large rock you can jump off of. The water is cold year round so feels fabulous in the summer heat! The second waterfall of the day is Greeter Falls. This one was much easier to get to! The 1/2 mile path takes you down and then you can go one way for the upper falls and the other for the lower falls. It does get a bit sketchy the further down the trail you get… but it is absolutely beautiful! We chose upper and were able to walk on top of the falls!! It was incredible! We spent the night at the campground at Rock Island State Park so that we would be close to the next waterfall. The drive into the state park was lush and gorgeous! Driving through central Tennessee has been a great experience! And we are loving the camping experience here as well! (We are traveling in a Winnebago Travato). Day two starts nice and early, and close by, at Twin Falls. And we are so excited to see that no hike is involved! You can see this one from the parking lot!! But there is an easy trail to get a better view, which, of course, we took. I am not sure why it’s called Twin Falls as there are way more than two. Absolutely stunning the size and water power coming from these falls! And the last waterfall of this trip is Burgess Falls. From the parking lot it is a short walk to the upper falls which we fell in love with!! You can walk all around them and there are so many small falls all around you!! Then there is a 3/4 mile ‘strenuous’ hike to see the lower falls… but we talked to some locals who said it wasn’t bad so we did it. It started raining on us, but so worth it to see this massive waterfall!! There are so many waterfalls in Tennessee that I mapped them out!
