About our Bacon Score methodologyYouTube Video Descriptionβ
American Hawaii Cruises SS CONSTITUTION is shown here during her final Christmas Cruise in 1994, when she sailed the Hawaiian Islands in tandem with her sister, the SS INDEPENDENCE. In addition to the ship, this video captures the various islands seen and visited, from Kauai and Maui to the Big Island, with waterfalls, volcanoes and dramatic vistas in the backdrop. A few months later, the CONSTITUTION sailed back to the mainland in preparation for a major refit that never happened. Instead, she was laid up and sold for scrap, sinking 700 miles northwest of Hawai'i enroute to the breakers. This would be her last hurrah, shared with her twin sister, INDEPENDENCE, which continued sailing until 2001, when American Hawaii Cruises ceased to exist. The INDY joins the CONNIE in Honolulu at the beginning and end of this 25 minute video. #ssindependence #ssconstitution #americanhawaiicruises #hawaiicruises #americanoceanliners #americanships #clasicoceanliners #steamships #oceanliners #classiccruiseships
