This two-day overview of the life of Jesus is your best choice if you wish to visit both Jerusalem and Bethlehem and maximize your time in Israel. Day 1 Drive to Nazareth and visit the Church of Annunciation and the Church of St. Joseph. Pass by Mary's well, a modern stone structure set in a lovely small garden. Drive on to the Jordan Valley and stop at the baptism site by the Jordan River. Enjoy lunch on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. Drive to Capernaum and visit the remains of the 1st century synagogue where Jesus taught and performed miracles and the 5th century synagogue built on top of the older one. Continue to the Mount of the Beatitudes and visit the beautiful garden and chapel, offering one of Israel's most captivating panoramas. Drive down the Jordan Valley to Jerusalem. Check into your hotel and after dinner enjoy a tour of the illuminated city. Day 2 After breakfast, check out and begin your visit to Jerusalem with a magnificent view over the 'Golden City' from the top of the Mount of Olives, then visit Gethsemane. Continue to Zion Gate. View the Room of the Last Supper and walk by King David's Tomb. Proceed via the Roman Cardo to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher; here you'll see the last five Stations of the Cross (tour does not enter the tomb). Continue your walk down the Via Dolorosa to the Western Wall. After lunch, drive to Bethlehem and visit the Church of Nativity, built above the place where Christ is said to have been born. Finally, depart Bethlehem and drive to Ashdod, where your ship awaits. Note: Tour has limited capacity but a minimum number of participants is required to operate. We strongly recommend you pre-book this tour as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. In Jerusalem, there is approximately 1 mile of walking over uneven surfaces, cobblestones, narrow and crowded alleyways and uphill, as well as over 200 steps to negotiate. This tour is not possible for guests using wheelchairs or those with walking difficulties. Shoulders and knees must be covered when visiting churches and holy sites. All meals and overnight accommodations are included. The price for children (ages 3-12) is for one child per double room. http://www.ncl.com This two-day overview of the life of Jesus is your best choice if you wish to visit both Jerusalem and Bethlehem and maximize your time in Israel.
