#queenmary #thequeenmary #oceanliner In this video, I'm staying onboard the legendary Queen Mary, the floating Ocean Liner / Ship hotel permanently docked in Long Beach (California), close to the city of Los Angeles. This ship was initially launched as an Ocean Liner for Cunard, but retired after a lengthy period of service. Unfortunately, this cabin that I arrived to fell significantly short of my expectations - it was dusty, dirty, and generally not what I would expect from a ship of the prestige of the Queen Mary. Historically, the Queen Mary was built in Clydebank (Glasgow, Scotland - yes, close to where I grew up!) back in 1930, and her maiden voyage took place a few years later in 1936. In 1967, she retired as an Ocean Liner, and arrived in her new home of Southern California in December of that year, where she now operates as a floating hotel, attraction, and weddings & events venue. The room I had booked was a 'Standard Stateroom', so let me show you around!
