I Cruised One of Celebrity's Oldest Ships: Bargain or Bust?

When I saw a cruise advertised for $86 per night, I knew I had to give it a try. In reality, the total cost was a bit higher with taxes, fees, and gratuities. Still, the opportunity to sail on a Celebrity cruise and take a few days off was too tempting to pass up. I knew there was no guarantee of good weather at this time of year, and I was unsure how I’d like cruising on a smaller, older ship on a repositioning journey from our home port of Los Angeles to Vancouver, British Columbia. Plus, I didn't anticipate encountering a major problem before we even boarded. The ship, the Celebrity Summit, was built in 2001 and is just under half the size of the world’s largest cruise ships. I expected the smaller size might mean fewer entertainment options and less food, but I also knew it had undergone a major refurbishment in 2019. So come with me to find out if it was worth it.
