Located in San Luis Obispo County, Morro Bay California is roughly a half way point between the two cities, It is kid-friendly and has lots of outdoor activities. Morro Bay California , a coastal California city, is known for volcanic Morro Rock & Morro Bay State Park, plus rich birdlife. You can go to the Morro Rock Beach, it is not a climbable rock. "The rock sits within Morro Bay State Park, home to lagoons, trails and a bird-rich saltwater marsh. Morro Bay State Park's Museum of Natural History features exhibits on ecology and local Native American culture. Trails lead up Black Hill for views over the city and Morro Bay." ―Google We enjoyed the Morro Bay Embarcadero with its souvenir shops and restaurants. Luckily, things were semi-opened and reservations were accepted. The sea otters are in the harbor and are so fun to watch! They have tide pools as well, but unfortunately, it was just a quick stop for us. Be aware things close about 9pm. At least that was our experience in February.
