We spent a month in Uruguay expecting it to be one of our favorite destinations in South America. Some things exceeded our expectations. Others surprised us in ways we never anticipated. In this video, we share our biggest Uruguay lessons and what we'd do differently if we visit Uruguay again, including which neighborhoods we’d stay in. From daily life in Montevideo and the Pocitos neighborhood to grocery shopping, restaurant food, walkability, community events, wine country, and choosing where to stay, we're sharing the things we loved, the things that surprised us, and what we learned from spending a month here. One of the biggest lessons from Uruguay wasn't just about the country itself—it was about understanding our own travel style and what we value most in a destination. We discuss why some expectations didn't match reality, why other experiences far exceeded expectations, and how we'd approach a future visit differently. We also talk about some of our favorite experiences, the strong sense of community we found, and how easy it is to explore Uruguay's wine regions. One of our favorite experiences was attending Semana Criolla del Prado, Uruguay’s iconic Easter Week rodeo and cultural festival. We’ll show you some incredible bull riding footage from the rodeo. If you're planning a trip to Uruguay, considering Montevideo as a slow-travel destination, researching the Pocitos neighborhood, or comparing destinations in South America, we hope our experience helps you decide whether Uruguay might be the right fit for you. ▶ More Uruguay Videos on our Playlist: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLaKrCcu1wb9MSPD6D-qegl5NpVHZPkYTD&si=UHzOryP5GnBxrBIX Uruguay Grocery Prices Uruguay Wine Country & Wine Tasting: ▶ Watch Our Chile Experience: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLaKrCcu1wb9PLggyUhWPHqKg3RO92Sapp ▶ South America Travel Playlist (incldes Argentina!): https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLaKrCcu1wb9PiF4NpUIGfjdhWLYwsgS07 Coming Soon: Argentina vs Uruguay vs Chile: Which Country Would We Choose?
