Jewel of the Seas: Santa Barbara, CA Arrival & Departure

On September 25th the Jewel of the Seas made her final port of call on an 8 night Pacific Coastal Repositioning cruise when she arrived in Santa Barbara. Located just to the north of Los Angeles the port of Santa Barbara, like Monterey, is not capable of handling a cruise ship. Instead the ship anchored in the bay and managed it's own tendering operations to transport guests and crew between the shore and ship. When preparing for departure in the late afternoon the Jewel of the Seas had an issue with one of the winches used to raise the tender boats.
