In a series of social media posts as well as a press release, Royal Caribbean revealed it U.S. cruise restart plans for several ships. The first ship to return to service for Royal Caribbean in the U.S. will be Freedom of the Seas. Freedom of the Seas will sail a 3-night Perfect Day CocoCay cruise starting July 2nd from Miami. In this major cruise update it was revealed that the next ship to return to service for Royal Caribbean will be Odyssey of the Seas. This brand-new vessel will sail 6 and 8-night Caribbean cruises, starting on July 3rd from Fort Lauderdale, FL. Previously, Royal Caribbean had already announced a series of Alaska cruises this summer. Both Serenade of the Seas and Ovation of the Seas will be sailing from Seattle, WA. The first cruise on Serenade of the Seas is currently planned for July 19th. Ovation of the Seas will start Alaska cruises on August 13th. -----MAJOR CRUISE NEWS FOR ROYAL CARIBBEAN------ Now, Royal Caribbean has revealed that several test cruises have been approved by the CDC. This past week, we learned that Mariner of the Seas, Independence of the Seas, Allure of the Seas, and Symphony the Seas have all received CDC approval for test cruises. Thus, following the cruises on Freedom the Seas and Odyssey of the Seas, Royal Caribbean detailed the start dates for these remaining cruise ships that will resume service in the U.S. in 2021. Allure of the Seas and Symphony of the Seas will cruise 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises starting August 8th and 14th, respectively. Allure will cruise out of Port Canaveral, and Symphony from Miami. Additionally, Independence of the Seas will offer 7-night Western Caribbean cruises from Galveston, TX starting August 15th. Finally, Mariner of the Seas will offer 3 and 4-night Bahamas and Perfect Day CocoCay cruises from Port Canaveral, FL starting August 23rd. ------ROYAL CARIBBEAN LATEST CRUISE UPDATE------ Now, Royal Caribbean has not revealed the health and safety protocols that will be required on these ships restarting in the United States. In the announcement, Royal Caribbean indicated that the cruise line will reveal the safety procedures on the ships closer to the sailing dates. Although, Royal Caribbean did change its stance on vaccines for these newly announced cruises. While all crew on Royal Caribbean ships will be vaccinated, the cruise line is now "strongly encouraging" individuals that set sail to be fully vaccinated if theyβre eligible. With this announcement, Royal Caribbean did confirm cancellations for all other cruises in July and August.
