LIVE Amsterdam, Solstice & Serenade | Triple Cruise Ship Departure Vancouver on a Sunny August Day
YouTube Video Description↓
On a picture-perfect August afternoon in Vancouver Harbour, three magnificent cruise ships set off one after the other in a rare and spectacular triple departure sequence. First to make her move was Nieuw Amsterdam of Holland America Line, a modern Vista-class beauty renowned for her elegant profile and stylish interiors. Nieuw Amsterdam didn’t waste a minute, wasting no time in gliding gracefully away from Canada Place with the poise and precision that her bridge crew are known for. Recorded on August 10, 2025. Hot on her stern was Celebrity Solstice, the flagship of Celebrity Cruises’ celebrated Solstice-class. Known for her iconic sloping lawn deck and shimmering blue hull, Solstice quickly followed Nieuw Amsterdam into the harbour’s busy shipping lanes. The sunlight caught her distinctive silhouette, sparkling off her glass balconies as she accelerated away from the dock, threading her way between commercial shipping traffic, pleasure boats, and the ever-present seaplanes and helicopters. Serenade of the Seas, a Radiance-class gem from Royal Caribbean International, completed the trio. Serenade lingered just a bit longer at her berth, allowing the first two departures to clear some space in the harbour before beginning her own elegant and unhurried journey. Her distinctive green-tinted glass panels reflected the late afternoon light, making her stand out against the blue mountains and calm harbour waters. With her streamlined lines and vast expanses of open deck space, Serenade eased away with quiet confidence, taking her time to enjoy the spectacular Vancouver backdrop. The timing and choreography of this triple departure were something special to witness. With harbour traffic ranging from large container ships to small sailboats, plus a constant stream of floatplanes arriving and departing, the navigational demands on all three bridge crews were significant. Yet, as always, the professionals at the helm made it look effortless. August in Vancouver often delivers some of the best conditions of the cruise season, and this day was no exception. The skies were clear, the temperatures warm, and the sunlight danced on the water. From the iconic sails of Canada Place to the distant peaks of the North Shore Mountains, every angle offered a postcard-worthy scene. Triple departures don’t happen every day, and when they do, it’s a treat for ship spotters, photographers, and casual passersby alike. Seeing three very different vessels — each from a different cruise line and each with her own character — depart in quick succession was like watching a carefully staged performance on the world’s most beautiful maritime stage. For those lucky enough to be on board, this was the start of a new voyage. For those on shore, it was a reminder of the excitement and romance that cruise ships bring to Vancouver’s waterfront. Whether you’re a dedicated ship enthusiast or someone who simply appreciates the beauty of these engineering marvels, a triple departure like this is something you don’t soon forget. #VancouverHarbour #CruiseShipDeparture #NieuwAmsterdam #CelebritySolstice #SerenadeOfTheSeas #HollandAmericaLine #CelebrityCruises #RoyalCaribbean #TripleDeparture #VancouverCruises #CanadaPlace #CruiseSeason #ShipSpotting #CruiseVideo #Sailaway #CruiseLife #CruiseVancouver #CruisePort #HarbourViews #CruisePhotography #CruiseVideoVancouver #VancouverWaterfront #VancouverViews #CruiseShipVancouver #HarbourTraffic #ShipWatching #CruiseSeason2025 #CruiseEnthusiast #CruisePortVancouver
