This river cruise with Luang Say Cruises easily ranks in my top three experience of the entire trip. The northern Mekong river cruise starts on the Laos border city of Huay Xai. Crossing the border from Chiang Khong to Hauy Xi was extremely easy thanks to Luang Say Cruise's helpful staff that walked us through the entire process! We boarded our luxury river boat around 9 a.m., and by 9:30 we were cruising down the Mekong River. After cruising down the river for a couple of hours, we were severed an amazing lunch buffet. After lunch we continued down stream until we got to a small village on the bank of the Mekong River. Our boat docked on the shore while we explored the village to learn how the local mountain people live. After visiting the village our luxury cruise continued down river until we arrived at the Luang Say Lodge. We spent the night in a beautiful bungalow that offered amazing views of the Mekong River. That night we were served an amazing dinner, and the next morning we woke up to awesome views of the misty Mekong River.
