Marella Explorer 2 | Tenerife | Day 2 | Sail and Shine Party | Canarian Flavours Cruise 2026

Hi everyone! In this week's Marella Explorer 2 Canarian Flavours cruise series we arrive into Santa Cruz, Tenerife. We hadn't been to this part of #tenerife before and decided we would self explore for this day. We had a bit of a lie in and started the day with a mix of food from both the Snack Shack and the Market Place buffet. We then left the ship and made our way towards the centre. We saw a funfair along the way and it was revealed later on that we were here during their carnival. There were a lot of food and drink stalls and a big stage as well, unfortunately this wasn't open and no acts performing when we were here. We had a good walk around, we really liked the vibe of Santa Cruz and saw some interesting sights and then went into Ale-Hop because we can't walk past them! We went to the Mercado Ntra. Señora de África market and Dane had a pastry. We walked towards a very pretty garden/park and after had a drink and some food at the attached cafe here called Parque. In the garden's there was a very pretty flower arch section and we saw parrots in the trees. We had a Dorada drink and then made our way back to the #marellacruises ship after a really fun afternoon. Once back on board we relaxed around the pool deck for a couple of hours with a drink and enjoying the sunshine! We were here for longer than we meant to be so decided we would get ready for the evening and have food in the buffet so we could enjoy the entertainment later on. After food in the Market Place we went to the Squid and Anchor to do the daily trivia, we try to do as many quizzes as possible! We had to leave a bit early as we wanted to watch the show in the Broadway Show Lounge. This night it was Bud's Diner which was a mix of new and retro songs with a doo-wop twist. This was a really fun show and idea! We went to the top deck after this to see if we could see the funfair and any of the Carnival celebrations. It was then time for the Sail and Shine party which is the sail away party. This was lots of fun with appearances from the show cast, our cruise director, entertainment team and music from Muzzik Unlimited. We had such a fun time here, the staff are all just amazing. We had late night buffet and then decided it was time to go back to the cabin ready for the next day. We had so much fun in Tenerife and on the ship, this was so much fun!
