Today is day 6 on our Alaskan Cruise on the beautiful Carnival Spirit sailing from Seattle. We are doing the Mendenhall Glacier & Gardens Tour that we booked through Carnival. Then we walk around Juneau's port. Mendenhall Glacier is the largest glacier reachable by road in southeast Alaska. We spent an hour and half exploring the trails and walking to the waterfall. Then it was off to Glacier Gardens and the world famous upside down trees. It's a fun story how those came about, but basically it was a temper tantrum after his excavator was damaged that led to the tree ending up in the ground. This is a tour that is probably better later in the season, but it was still interesting and you get to learn about the Tongass National Forest. And Juneau did not disappoint. We went to the Red Dog saloon where it is still set up like it was in the 1800's, including saw dust on the floor. And of course I had to have the world famous Duck Fart. Our final stop was at the Griz Bar, which has their own unique shot, the bear fart. Thanks for watching!
