After viewing the sights, and eating at a restaurant or snack bar, take the cogwheel train down Mount Pilatus to the small town of Alpnachstad. There you can hop a boat ride to Lucerne and enjoy another scenic ride on Lake Lucerne. This was an extend my cruise getaway after a Mediterranean Cruise with my daughters. The Swiss Rail Pass provides access to all the buses, trains, and boats within Switzerland for however many days you purchase. The Mount Pilatus adventure was discounted and the train and bus and boat rides were included. It was a fun thing to do for a day. Switzerland is just beautiful.
