Today on Travels with the Russells, we arrive in Mumbai, India aboard Celebrity Millennium and dive straight into one of the most intense, colourful and unforgettable cities we’ve ever visited. This full-day shore excursion takes us from the iconic Gateway of India, standing proudly on the waterfront, to the fascinating chaos of Chor Bazaar, better known as the Thieves Market — a place where you can apparently buy anything… and we mean anything 😄 Along the way, we explore some of Mumbai’s most important sights, learning about the city’s British colonial past, its deep traditions, and its modern-day contrasts. One minute it’s grand architecture, the next it’s buzzing street life, honking horns and the constant energy that makes Mumbai feel alive. And then… things take a very unexpected turn. We somehow manage to gate-crash a full Indian wedding celebration 🎉 Music, dancing, colour everywhere — and yes, we were very politely welcomed in. Only in India!
