Norwegian Cruise Line has confirmed that the Norwegian Sun cruise ship made contact with a small iceberg,, known as a growler, due to dense fog during its voyage in Alaska. As a result, the ship has been forced to skip a port of call and head to Juneau to assess the damage. The Norwegian Sun was near the Hubbard Glacier on Saturday when the encounter occurred. Her call on Skagway was cancelled yesterday and she arrived in Juneau for a thorough inspection of the propeller, hull and propulsion system. No formal damage assessment has been released yet.
