Holland America Line’s Noordam wasted no time once Celebrity Solstice cleared the way. She may not have been the first to depart, but Noordam made sure she wasn’t left behind — surging out of Vancouver Harbour with her usual no-nonsense precision and speed. Known for keeping a tight schedule, she slipped away from Canada Place just minutes after Solstice, catching the light as the afternoon sun broke through clouds and highlighted the North Shore mountains. Noordam had been lined up and ready, and while Solstice got the top billing for leading the triple departure, Noordam quickly showed she’s every bit as commanding in motion. The harbour provided a dramatic stage: swirling clouds still clearing from the previous day’s historic rain, crisp air settling in, and mountains peeking through for a striking backdrop. August 15th went down as the rainiest day in 112 years in Vancouver, but by August 16th the skies cooperated, giving these departures an extra sense of contrast — from torrential downpour to clear mountain views. Noordam’s fast-paced sailaway was part of a perfectly orchestrated sequence: Solstice first, Noordam next, and Serenade of the Seas last. Each departure timed in order like clockwork, weaving between a busy stream of tankers and cargo ships that also transited the harbour that afternoon. Noordam, part of Holland America Line’s Vista-class fleet, is a familiar and much-loved ship on the Vancouver–Alaska route. With her elegant profile and reputation for reliability, she brings both grace and a touch of speed to every sailaway. Watching her power out of Vancouver is a reminder of how alive and dynamic the harbour becomes during cruise season. #Vancouver #Noordam #HollandAmericaLine #VancouverHarbour #CruiseDeparture #CanadaPlace #SailawayVancouver #CruiseShip #embarkation #embarkationday #alaskacruise #alaskacruiseseason
