Our LAST Caribbean Cruise for the Foreseeable Future | Celebrity Summit Cruise | Episode 1

This was our experience on the Celebrity Summit at the end of February 2020. Little did we know a few weeks later cruising would be suspended, and may never be the same. The Celebrity Summit cruise ship sailed out of San Juan, Puerto Rico on three different Caribbean itineraries. The Summit was refurbished in 2019. Not only did it stand out with it's newly decorated interior, but the ship was compatible with a new feature on the Celebrity Cruises app. The app allowed passengers to complete the check in process on a phone to obtain an Xpress pass, which allows for a faster boarding process, known as Expedited Arrival. In addition, The Summit allowed for a newer process when embarking that allowed passengers to visit their staterooms prior to the staterooms being fully prepared (which is often around 1 PM). In this video we share our experience cruising on the Summit before COVID-19 became a pandemic. We traveled to San Juan the day prior to embarking on the ship, utilized the Celebrity app for the Expedited Arrival process, toured our interior stateroom (8001), dined in the Cosmopolitan dining room and danced the night away in the Sky Lounge. This was the first episode in our series about cruising on the Celebrity Summit. Our cruise visited ports in Barbados, St. Lucia, Antigua, St. Kitts and St. Thomas. At this time no one knows when cruising will resume or what the experience will be like. For now, we are lucky to have our memories from just before the world wide cruising suspension. We are thankful that we were able to dock at all scheduled ports as we know many ships did not have the same experience during this time. The staff on the Celebrity Summit did an excellent job increasing safety precautions while also doing their normal responsibilities related to taking care of the guests. We want to thank Celebrity and all of the staff who made our cruise special during this difficult time for the world. Our hearts go out to all who have been affected.
