YouTube Video Description

Offering 360º views out over the Pacific Ocean the North Star is a one of a kind new feature onboard the Ovation of the Seas. Built as a glass gondola on the end of a 135 foot long crane it is capable of lifting 14 passengers vertically to a height of over 300 feet. Raising guests high above the ship the gondola rises to it's maximum height before making a slight rotation to both the port and starboard side to ensure everyone gets a good view regardless of where they are standing. While capable of holding the gondola over the side of the ship for unique view the Quantum Class no longer uses that mode to save time and increase the hourly capacity. Reservations for the North Star can be made ahead of time through the pre-cruise planner. This video was filmed at 10:30AM on 5/15/19 while sailing north in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Alaska. 11 Night May 13th, 2019 Alaskan Glacier Sailing Itinerary: Day 1: Vancouver, BC (5/13/19 Departing 8:00 PM) Day 2: Day at Sea (5/14/19) Day 3: Day at Sea (5/15/19) Day 4: Icy Strait Point, Alaska (5/16/19 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM) Day 5: Sitka, Alaska (5/17/19 from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM) Day 6: Hubbard Glacier [Sailing] (5/18/19 from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM) Day 7: Juneau, Alaska (5/19/19 from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM) Day 8: Skagway, Alaska (5/20/19 from 7:00 AM to 8:30 PM) Day 9: Endicott Arm & Dawes Glacier [Sailing] (5/21/19 from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM) Day 10: Day at Sea (5/22/19) Day 11: Day at Sea (5/23/19) Day 12: Seattle, WA (5/24/19 from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM)
