"Queen Elizabeth" & "Adonia" depart from Southampton - 09/12/2012
YouTube Video Descriptionβ
Sunday 9th December 2012 saw the return of Cunard's "Queen Elizabeth" to Southampton Docks following her period of fly-cruises in the Mediterranean since August. Also in port was P&O Cruises' "Adonia", who was docked at the 'City' Terminal because of the restrictions placed around the new giant container ship "CMA CGM Marco Polo". "Queen Elizabeth" was at the 'Ocean' Terminal. Both ships were booked for 16:00 departures - unusual for a 'Queen' but not for "Adonia". "Adonia" was the first to get underway being turned with assistance from the tug "Svitzer Sarah". But she was then stationary whilst "Queen Elizabeth" was given permission to reverse out from the 'Ocean' Terminal (normally she and "Queen Victoria" reverse in upon arrival so this was a change) and turn before following her down Southampton Water towards the Solent.
