Princess Cruises' brand-new "Royal Princess" carried her first paying passengers on Sunday 9th June on a two-night preview cruise from Southampton's 'Ocean' Terminal to St. Peter Port, Guernsey. The weather was much better than when she'd arrived on the 7th and this time she was joined by three other cruise ships. Cunard's "Queen Elizabeth" was at the 'QEII' Terminal with Silversea's "Silver Cloud" at the 'City' Terminal and P&O Cruises' "Oriana" at the 'Mayflower' Terminal. Various cargo ships were also sailing in/out and around Southampton Docks as well. First in this video, viewed from Town Quay, we see the Grimaldi Lines' "Grande Italia" being assisted by the tug "Svitzer Sarah" having departed Berth 102 at 15:59 for Flushing. She was followed by the bunkering ship "Whitonia" that had been re-fueling "Silver Cloud". "Queen Elizabeth" was the first of the cruise ships to depart at 16:32 and reversed around into the River Hamble to turn before sailing off to Bergen. Then it was the turn of "Royal Princess" at 17:02 blowing her horn which is tuned to play the 'Love Boat' theme (unfortunately due to my camera playing up I only got two shots of "Royal Princess" leaving). The general cargo ship "Huelin Dispatch" then followed "Royal Princess" from Berth 45 at 17:12 heading for Jersey. We then move around to Mayflower Park where we see another Car Carrier, the "Asian Breeze" being moved from Berth 31 round to Berth 104 assisted by "Svitzer Sarah". As they passed the 'City' Terminal, "Silver Cloud" cast off her moorings and moved off at 17:57 heading for Honfleur whilst "Oriana" departed at 18:12 for Kristiansand.
