"Queen Mary 2" departs from Southampton Docks - 10/01/2017

January 10th is the day that CUNARD's "Queen Mary 2" departs on her World Cruise. It has been a tradition for the past few years whilst other ships' World Cruise starts dates vary. Last year, all three 'Queens' were in Southampton, but on Tuesday 10th January 2017, it was just "Queen Mary 2". Here she is seen reversing out from the Ocean Cruise Terminal at just after 18:00 before swinging round and heading down Southampton Water with a fireworks display once she'd passed the Dock Head. The World Cruise will last 118 nights and sail down the West Coast of Africa before crossing the Indian Ocean to Australia and then back via South-East Asia, China, Japan, India and then transit the Suez Canal and Mediterranean before arriving back into Southampton on Monday 8th May.
