Resilient Lady: Kotor Montenegro on September 28th, 2023 (with MSC Lirica & Oceania Sirena)

On September 24th Virgin Voyages' Resilient Lady set sail on a 7 night Adriatic Sea & Greek Gems Voyage around the eastern Mediterranean. Sailing round trip from Athens she made stops in various ports around Croatia, Montenegro, and Greece. This was her second to last voyage of this itinerary for the 2023 season. The third stop of the voyage came on day 5 as the journey back south along the coast continued with a stop in Kotor Montenegro. With another short journey down the cost of just about 50 miles the Resilient Lady had to take a scenic over night journey farther out to sea to kill time. While not fjords the access route to the port of Kotor is very reminiscent of fjords and takes a longer time to transit than most port arrivals. As a result Resilient Lady began her journey under the cover of darkness at 7:00 AM for her 10:00 AM scheduled arrival. Ahead of her leading the way was the MSC Lirica with a scheduled 9:00 AM arrival time. After making her long journey through the various channels and bays Resilient Lady made her way past the historic Lady of the Rocks and sailed past the MSC Lirica who set anchor a 20-30 minute tender ride from Kotor to finally position herself just 5 minutes from the port. After starting tender operations the Oceania Sirena sailed past her to pull right up and dock at the pier where the tender operations were occurring. After a full day in port the sunset behind the mountains as the Oceania Sirena sailed past to head back out to sea followed by Resilient Lady making her own departure. As she made that journey a full moon made it's appearance as it rose over the mountains lighting up the valley for the journey.
