"Saga Ruby" departs Southampton on her Final World Cruise - 20/02/2013

Wednesday 20th February 2013 saw what is hopefully the end of Saga Cruises's problems with the "Saga Ruby". After spending over a month and a half in Southampton Docks following crankshaft problems, she finally departed from the 'City' Terminal on her revised final World Cruise at 21:00 to a massive fireworks display. Assistance was provided by the tugs "Wyestorm" and "Svitzer Bentley". "Saga Ruby" has only one more year left in service before retirement. She is however not due to return to Southampton until October. Her World Cruise ends in Portsmouth on Saturday 27th April and after making two cruises from there, she will spend the summer season sailing out from Dover. Viewed from Mayflower Park.
