This is the next part of our exciting upcoming adventure. And this time it’s by sea. Very shortly, my husband and I will travelling from Ushuaia, Argentina to Antarctica via the Drake Passage on board @VikingCruises Expedition Ship, Viking Octantis. If you’re not heard of the Drake Passage before, it’s a 600 mile stretch of water between the southern tip of South America and the Antarctic Peninsula. It’s a body of water where three oceans converge - the Southern Ocean, the South Pacific Ocean and the South Atlantic Ocean. This meeting of oceans can sometimes lead to a rough crossing, know as the ‘Drake Shake’. 😳 We’re crossing our fingers however for gentle winds and small swells, known as the ‘Drake Lake’, during the journey which can take between 36 to 48 hours.
