The “Great Chilean Earthquake” occurred at 7:11 in the evening and lasted approximately 10 minutes. Those 10 short minutes were perhaps the longest in Chilean history as the quake devastated wreaked havoc. Yet, the resilient spirit of the Chileans shone through. Micro-business begun forming at grass root level while support groups to help the survivors rebuild their lives sprung up everywhere. Those who could help did. It was this inherent grace and goodness, identity of work ethic and sense of community that saw the country flourish once more. This cocktail is inspired by the classic Chilean Terremoto – meaning earthquake in Spanish. Traditionally it contains pipeño, (a sweet fermented wine) pineapple & grenadine, but the word also means “of the people”, in homage to the thousands who found themselves in dire straits. And, as any good Chilean would, we have added our own touch by incorporating natural lime acidity & the herbaceous flavors of Green Chartreuse & Hepple Gin. Our twisted terremoto is shaken to perfection.
