Our first stop in this video is the birthplace of Mozart. A yellow building with "Mozarts Geburtshaus" on the front, it's located on a busy street full of pedestrian traffic and lots of shopping. Our main focus is in this video is the University Square. Originally known as the Old Marketplace, The Unversitätsplatz is a traditional farm market that was formalized in 1857. Since then, it has become a tourist attraction and today is the home of several local food vendors. There are several noteworthy buildings that frame the University Square and the area of the Wiener Philharmoniker Gasse, which links the square with the Festival Hall. Most of the burgher houses around it date back to the 14th century and were later equipped with Baroque facades. The dominant feature of the square, the Kollegienkirche, was built around 1700.
