Scarlet Lady: Miami Departure on October 10th, 2021

On October 10th Virgin Voyages' Scarlet Lady set sail on a 5 night Mayan Sol Voyage from Miami Florida. Sailing round trip from Miami she will make stops in Costa Maya and Bimini in the Bahamas before returning home. This was her second voyage outside the US and her first to Mexico. Along with Scarlet Lady the Carnival Horizon was in port leaving at 4:00 PM with a turn around at the basin behind Scarlet Lady requiring her to sail past twice. At the same time the Norwegian Gem departed and was able to pull strait out and down the channel to reach the open ocean. The Independence of the Seas was also in port with a 5:00 PM scheduled departure. Scarlet Lady left just past sunset at 7:00 PM. As she began her departure the skies opened up and the rain began to fall sending everyone for cover. Taking refuge on the backpack of The Galley I filmed as we made our way down the channel past each of the shiny new cruise terminals and those under construction. As we neared the end of the challenge the captain laid in to the horn with a continuous stream and blows as we neared the beach where tons of guests awaited to watch us sail by, even with the inclement weather conditions.
