http://www.TravelsWithSheila.com Ten days filled with new experiences, and wonderful food has to end; one last briefing, Captain's farewell dinner, goodbyes to the wonderful personnel who work so hard Longyearbyen has a very small port and with quite a few cruise ships sailing in for the day as well as expedition cruises embarking and returning, the Sea Spirit would have to anchor in the fjord instead of at the pier. That meant the poor staff had to schlep luggage from 100 passengers by Zodiac to the pier and then transfer us. Argh... What a mess! Many passengers were flying out the same day for destinations like Oslo while others, like us, would fly out the next morning; think 4:50a morning! Oh well, there was still Longyearbyen to discover...
