SH DIANA Christening Ceremony in Amsterdam

On May 4th, the expedition cruise ship SH DIANA (IMO 9921740) was christened in Amsterdam. Godmother was Valerie Ann Wilson, Founder and CEO of Valerie Wilson Travel. Andrea Zito, CEO of Swan Hellenic once again thanked all Helsinki Shipyard employees for their excellent work in building this ship. SH DIANA is the third ship Helsinki Shipyard built for Swan Hellenic. Measuring 12,100 gross tons, SH DIANA is slightly larger than her two Vega-class sister ships, SH MINERVA and SH VEGA. SH DIANA can accommodate 192 passengers. The three 5-star expedition cruise ships were delivered within 16 months. With ice class PC6, they are ideally suited for cruises to the Arctic and Antarctica. After the christening, SH DIANA has already set course for arctic waters. This voyage is also the start of a partnership with the international gourmet association JRE-Jeunes Restaurateurs. From now on, accompanying chefs will offer guided gastronomic shore excursions, cooking shows and lectures on Swan Hellenic’s global expedition cruises.
