After months of preparation, Carnival Horizon hosted the Deaf Blind Escape Cruise for nearly 200 guests last week. There was nothing but praise from deaf/blind guests and interpreters, who said they were in tears of joy from all the fun they had! The group praised the Cherry On Top dining experience for their top-notch service and delicious treats as well as the Housekeeping team for keeping their rooms safe and cozy. Our entertainment team wowed the crowd every night while our shore excursions team took care of them during the day. One guest, Lorie, was very touched by the entire experience. Lorie recently lost her ability to see and hear. She used to love listening to music and watching movies and shows but now needs at least two interpreters to do so - one for sign language while the other stands behind her drawing the events on her back. After seeing the Soulbound show, she was in tears, telling Gergely the show brought back her memories about music and the joy it brought her. Thank you to all Carnival Horizon team members, including the Housekeeping, Dining Room, Culinary, Entertainment and Production Staff, Beverage Operations, Guest Services, Guest Access and Carnival Adventures, for creating such an incredible experience for this group!
