The first of the 'Railway Touring Company's main season of the 'Dorset Coast Express' runs from London Victoria to Weymouth on Wednesday 21st July 2010. Motive power for this run was SR N15-class 'King Arthur' 4-6-0 No.30777 "Sir Lamiel" and WCRC Class 37 Nos.37706 & 37516. The two Class 37s were used to cover for the unavailable SR unrebuilt 'Battle of Britain'-class 4-6-2 No.34067 "Tangmere" and BR 'Britannia'-class 4-6-2 No.70000 "Britannia" due to over-running repairs and overhauls at Carnforth and Crewe respectively. The RTC had managed to secure the use LNER A4-class 4-6-2 No.60019 "Bittern" for use on the trains, but "Bittern" was needing a few repairs so was unable to work on this particular train. The A4 would then appear on all the other remaining runs throughout July, August and September.
