Creator's Key Takeaways

I'm now on board. My first time on the Waverly. To be honest, I am a bit apprehensive cuz it is a bit rough out there.

Would I recommend this trip? I would check the weather forecast first.

That first 25 minutes I felt a bit rough, but now it's calmed off and it's quite pleasant to be honest.

My first trip on the Wavely from Port to Penath. It was quite interesting, although a bit rough at first.

YouTube Video Description

A cruise on the Waverley from Porthcawl Pier to Penarth, South Wales. An evening trip along the Glamorgan Heritage Coast. The PS Waverley is the last seagoing paddle steamer in the world. This cruise was about 3 hours long and was meant to be a gentle trip from Porthcawl, but the sea and wind around Porthcawl and the Bristol Channel are never predictable. The Waverley isn’t the calmest ship and can get quite rocky in the waves. Once past Nash Point in the Vale of Glamorgan, the sea state calmed, and it was relatively smooth until Penarth.
