The Wonderful Small Town Of Beaufort, South Carolina

Here's a crazy place that you've never heard of before. For this episode, I headed to Beaufort, South Carolina, population 13,404. It’s always called one of the best places in South Carolina. It’s a big tourist town, but that doesn’t mean you can’t live here. I went through downtown Beaufort, checked out some of the nicest parts of town, and drove through some regular neighborhoods. Then I talked to someone who has lived here for a long time and got his perspective on what it’s like here. Where is Beaufort? It’s on the South Carolina coast, about halfway between the very southern cities of Charleston and Savannah, Georgia. This whole coastline here is one big tourist stop. Just about all of Beaufort sits on a series of islands surrounded by low lying marshland. Even though it’s right on the coast, there’s not really a traditional sandy beach nearby.
