Things to do in Ljubljana, Slovenia and Lake Bled | Travel Guide

https://www.retirementtravelers.com Slovenia is one of our favorite countries we have ever visited during our retirement travel. Ljubljana, Slovenia checks all the boxes for a city with beauty, cost of living, safety, great summer weather, castles, bridges, other things to see and do, etc. We enjoyed the Farmer’s market, Open Kitchen, walking around the Old Town and enjoying the bridges, and riding the funicular up to Ljubljana Castle. We also took a day trip to Lake Bled and it is simply one of the most beautiful places on earth. After hiking up to Bled Castle, we made the 4 mile trek around the lake. We stopped and rented a row boat out to the island and visited the historic church. There were so many picture opportunities, that we probably stopped more than we walked, but it is a day we will never forget.
