Creator's Key Takeaways
This time in Rowitan, we decided to try something a little bit different.
We skipped the monkeys and sloths and booked a mangrove tunnel tour that also included a visit to Punta Gorda.
Those chicken empanadas, oh, they were seriously next level. Some of the best that we've ever had.
This tour is a great option if you want to see a different side of the island.

About our Bacon Score methodologyYouTube Video Description↓
We switched things up in Roatan and tried a mangrove tunnel tour with a stop in Punta Gorda, the island’s first settlement, plus a local food tasting at Good Island Taste. It’s about an hour drive to reach the mangroves and the roads can be rough, but the experience gives you a different look at the island. The mangrove tour itself runs about 30 to 35 minutes, and the chicken empanadas were some of the best we’ve ever had. If you’re cruising to Roatan and want something beyond the typical animal encounters, this might be a great option.
