The western storm, Paulette, may weaken due to wind shear later this week. The easternmost storm, Rene, will soak the Cabo Verde Islands. Each was a record earliest 'P' and 'R' storm in Atlantic Basin history. Tropical Storm Rene has maximum sustained winds at 40MPH with minimum central pressure at 1001mb, moving west at 15MPH. Tropical Storm Paulette has 50MPH winds, 1000mb moving northwest at 6MPH, At this time, neither are expected to interact with land. Invest 94L, approaching the coast of North Carolina, is expected to bring rain and thunderstorms along the east coast Wednesday and Thursday. Invest 95L, still over Africa, is one worth watching.
