Windstar have 5 star cruises that get to areas of the world larger ships simply can’t get to. They are called; Wind Star, Wind Surf, Star Pride, Star Breeze and Star Legend. Both are 4 mastered sailing ships. They have wide open teak decks which, is unlike other small ships. Both holds up to 148 passengers and are fantastic at looking at the world in a new way! Wind Surf joined Wind Star in 1998 and was built by another cruise company. This ship has 5 masts and she fewer than 350 guests which, is Windstar’s biggest ships and the biggest sailing ship in the world. The next ship came in May 2014 and she’s called ‘Star Pride’. She holds up to 212 passengers. Then, there’s Star Breeze and Star Legend which, also hold 212 passengers… but, they were released in 2015. Each ship has more than one crew member for every two guests on-board. It will feel like you are on your own private yacht! Some of these are dependent on port and weather conditions. Also, some are dependent on the location you are sailing in. By the end of 2020 Windstar is renovating Star Breeze, Star Legend and Star Pride. This is going to be a $250 Million initiative called Star Plus. One of the main things that will happen is that the ships will be lengthened and 84 feet will be added to the ships in size. This is shown through this video! The ship will be split in half and anew section will be placed in the middle (a basic explanation). The ships will hold 312 guests.
